I was recently invited to check out the new look McDonalds and seen as this is usually my fast food of choice I jumped at the chance. Plus the fact I would get to make my own Big Mac was a massive plus as I ALWAYS order that from the menu! This was my first ever event so I was very nervous but it was great to meet some other local bloggers.
The new look features:
There were 7 other bloggers at the event and I was shown around with 2 other parent bloggers. First port of call was the new self service kiosks that help to give you more time to think about and place your order. There is also an option to make the screen smaller and further down the display so that children can order for themselve. This makes them accessible for disabled people too. The kiosks also allow you to customise your order very easily (I think my mum would even be able to use it, it is that simple!)
You are also able to select table service now and the restaurant is split into zones to help with the ease of this new venture. Tablets have also been installed which is another helpful tool for a parent to maybe get a peaceful meal! All in all lots of new options have now been put into place to make a visit to McDonalds with your children a lot less stressful! If my children know they are going to McDonalds for a treat (ours is usually on a swimming lesson day as it’s easy when we don’t get finished till after 6 and it’s on the way home) they usually behave! There is also charging points on some tables which is a huge plus for me as I am forever forgetting to charge my phone up.
We also got a great tour of the kitchen which showed how everything is assembled to order using a very efficient production line. There is also a separate drink stations for the drive through and the restaurant. Everything is very organised and it was amazing to watch! Each employee had their own task to do and this enables them to complete the orders in the quick time you have come to expect from a fast food restaurant.
Making my very own Big Mac:
After being shown around the kitchen we then got to make a Big Mac ourselves! Wearing a very fetching hat, hair net and apron. We even had a name badge which we got to take home with us. I filmed the burger making process so visit my channel to see a few clips of this and other features in the new look restaurant.
The Signature Collection:
After making and demolishing my Big Mac we were then presented with a burger from the new Signature Collection. There is a choice of Spicy, Classic and BBQ which is the one I went for. The burger is 100% British and Irish Beef which is double the thickness of the burgers used in a Big Mac and it also contains BBQ sauce, coleslaw, red onion, lettuce, Beechwood smoked bacon and cheddar cheese.
I had such a fab time at my very first event and I would like to say a huge thank you to McDonalds in St Andrews Quay, Hull for inviting me.
This post was sponsored by McDonalds but all thoughts are my own.
